Gepäck und Kleidung

We strongly advise you to bring your luggage in a backpack (with inner frame) and the total weight limit not to exceed ten kilos per person. A compact bag of the same weight is also possible. Think of the limited luggage space on the bus, we don't recommend a 'hard' case for any of our trips. As for your clothing, we recommend you to bring practical clothing that can be easily combined (in layers). We ask you in your choice of clothing to show respect for local culture. In a number of small hotels laundry service is available, but this is often expensive. It is cheaper for you to wash clothes at a launderette yourself. Remember when composing your luggage, to include for example: walking shoes, sewing equipment, laundry detergent, universally valid travel adapter, enough photographic film, toiletries, alarm clock, pens, scissors and knife (stowed in hold during flight). In an island nation like Japan, the sea is never very far away, so it can be chilly in the evening. Keep this in mind if you enjoy an evening stroll. In July and August it rains regularly in Japan. Rainwear or an umbrella should not be missing from your baggage.
Note: It is not necessary to bring tents, sleeping bags, sleeping mats or mosquito nets.
